Spinach cheese balls are different the outer layer is made with spinach puree, bread crumbs and stuffed with mozzarella cheese. You can also use regular cheese or cheddar cheese. The most important point for this recipe that there should be no cracks on the outer layer of balls otherwise the balls might break and cheese will come out at the time of frying.

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup spinach puree
  • 1 cup bread crumbs
  • 2 tbsp cornflour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup grated mozzarella cheese at room temperature
  • 1/2 tsp oregano
  • 1/2 tsp red chilli flakes
  • 1/4 tsp grated garlic
  • 2 tbsp finely chopped onion
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil for deep frying

Method:

1. In a bowl take spinach puree, bread crumbs, cornflour and salt. Mix it well and form a smooth dough.

2. In another bowl take grated mozzaeella cheese, finely chopped onion, garlic, oregano, red chilli flakes and salt. Mix everything well and make small balls of it.

3. Now grease your hand with some oil and take a portion of the spinach dough and pat it to small disc. Place one mozzarella cheese ball on it as shown in the picture.

4. Cover the cheese ball from all sides and similarly prepare rest of them like this.

5. Heat oil in a pan and deep fry the spinach cheese balls till golden brown from all sides.

6. Take out on a tissue paper and serve hot with ketchup!
