Today’s recipe ‘Mango Peda’ is an easy, quick and delicious Indian sweet. It is a simple recipe with few main ingredients like mango puree, milk powder and sugar. You can also use sweetened condensed milk in place of sugar. For some extra flavour I have added a tablespoon of kesar dissolved in milk along with few drops of kewra essence for an aromatic flavour. Mango Peda is a super delicious and my personal favourite Indian sweet which I always make before the mango season ends.

Mango Peda can be made for any special occasions, parties etc or you can also gift this homemade pedas to your friends and relatives. This recipe is something everyone is fond of.

RECIPE DETAILS

Prep time: 10 mins

Cook time: 30 mins

Yeilds: 10-12 pedas

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 cup Mango pulp
  • 1+ 1/4 cup Milk powder
  • 1/4 cup Sugar
  • 1 tsp Ghee
  • 1 tsp cardamom powder
  • 2 tsp saffron dissolved in milk
  • 1-2 drops of kewra essence
  • Few chopped pistachios for garnishing

METHOD:

1. Take 1 cup of chopped mangoes, add them in a mixer grinder jar and make puree of it.

2. Take out the mango puree in a non stick pan or a kadai, next add sugar and mix well.

3. Let the mixture cook on medium flame for 5 minutes while stirring continuosly.

4. Now add saffron soaked in warm milk and mix well.

5. Now add milk powder and stir well till the mixture is smooth and well combined.

6. Add green cardamom powder along with one teaspoon of ghee and again give it a good mix.

7. Now you will notice the mixture will thicken.

8. Switch off the flame and take out the mixture on a greased plate.

9. Let the mixture cool down for some time so that you can easily make pedas.

10. Once the mixture has cooled down take a small portion of it and make small pedas rolling between the palm of your hands and gently press it in the center and garnish with some chopped pistachios. You can put chandi ka varak as well.

11. Similarly make rest of the pedas.

12. Mango pedas are ready to Serve! Enjoy.
